My experience with the Hamlets at Westsyde (now Westsyde Landing) have been so amazing. While senior care and the medical system is under tremendous funding and resource pressure,  the staff at Westsyde have helped my family in more ways than I can explain in this review. They helped my dad's wife transition from living in thier home for 20 years to moving to assisted living.  Dad was transferred into long term memory care six weeks later. Having them both in the same facility has dramatically simplified visiting and care. The move in process for both was seamless.  The care they have received has been stellar.  Since my wife and I live in the lower mainland we rely on the care provided as we can only visit every two weeks. I can't believe the care and compassion of the staff and recommend this facility whole heartedly.  The administration, the nurses, the doctor and all of the support staff have been heroic during this difficult time in my family's senior years. Researching Senior Housing can be overwhelming.  Christine took the time to help us with explaining the types of housing and communities available in the area.  Her knowledge of The Hamlets at Westsyde and other options in the area was very helpful.  Our parents are still undecided about “when” but we are pretty certain they know “where” they are going to move.  (The Hamlets, of course). Downsizing to independent living is a long and challenging undertaking- perhaps the toughest move anyone will ever make-  and throughout the entire process Christine, Chelsea, and the rest of the Hamlets team did everything in their power to make the journey for our Dad as straightforward and stress-free as possible.  They bent over backwards to allow him to make the decision in his own timeframe and were a valued partner for all of us as he picked a suite and worked though the paperwork and the move-in, and they have continued to be there for him as he settles into his new home and routine. My Mom has moved into the Hamlets Complex Care side and I have to say for the medical challenges my Mom has, staff have  been very supportive and acted on all of her medical needs to make things easier for my Mom.  As well have been very helpful during the move in phase and Mom is settling in nicely now. A strong leadership with that works collectively for very good departmental communication.  Excellent activity department and the food looks amazing!  An older building but lots of updating going on with painting inside, outdoor work on walking paths and more.  Very welcoming indeed.
